Advance notice for next week's planned gig on Friday 4th July at The Earl Beatty in Motspur Park -
the gig has been postponed by request of Steve, the manager of the venue:
"Due to the World Cup quarter finals on that evening, I need to put the date back to a different one. Didn't want them turning up on the 4th July with the football in full swing!"As soon as it's rescheduled we'll let you know!

Here's the big news: at long last, the Blackfoot Sue album
Talk Radio has been re-released!
Talk Radio was first released in the 1995 by the reformed Blackfoot Sue, featuring founder members Tom and Dave Farmer alongside younger brother Gary, with Steve Turner on lead guitar, this is the first time the album has been freely available worldwide.
And it's yours for a mere £7.99!!! You can get it here on Amazon UK.
Take a look here for the track listing.
As some of you may be aware, these tracks were later repackaged in 1998 into the album Red On Blue, but both albums were on limited release and have become more and more difficult to find. Until now!
April 11, 2014
A huge thank you to Gary Davis for coming to the rescue at extremely short notice. I'll leave the full review to Reg Dyer, long time gig connoisseur, but I can confirm that it was a stonker of a gig at one of our very favourite venues, the ever-welcoming Admiral Nelson in Whitton!
December 17, 2013
It's that time of year again!!! Cry Wolf wishes you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2014.
We're very happy to report that Gary is back and ready to rock after his horrendous crash on the M25 on the way to the gig last Friday, and in the nick of time - there is a hectic schedule of no less than 5 gigs for you in just over a week! It all kicks off this Friday, December 20, at The Green Man in Hatton, followed by perennial favourite The Windsor Castle in Carshalton on Saturday, December 21. For details on these and all the rest of the festive season gigs, check out the gig list.

A huge thank you to Eddie Golga (Blackfoot Sue/Liner/Spoilers/Outside Edge) for performing with Cry Wolf at Saturday night's gig at The Windsor Castle in Carshalton.
It was a great turn-out and an absolute stonker of a night at one of our favourite venues...! Click on the arrow below to watch a short clip.
** You've got another chance to catch Eddie on stage with the boys this Saturday, September 21, 2013, at The Admiral Nelson in Whitton.
August 24, 2013
GIG ALERT: Please note that the gig scheduled for this Saturday, August 24 at The Airman in Feltham, has been cancelled.
Another case of "financial constraints" in what's becoming an all too familiar and disappointing story.
July 30, 2013
GIG ALERT: Please note that the gig scheduled for this Friday, August 2, has been postponed until October 4. Apologies to anyone who planned to come along. The gig on Saturday, August 3, at Harehill Estate Social Club, is still on! See you there!
June 25, 2013
For those who missed it, this is from Saturday's hugely enjoyable early evening gig at The Crown Hotel in Chertsey. Despite being subjected to non-summery temperatures and the occasional blanket of aromatic white fog from the barbeque, the band, sound and audience were all superb. A splendid evening, thanks to everyone, including the hard-working hotel staff!

May 7, 2013
GIG NEWS: I am hugely disappointed to have to report that The Row Barge in Guildford has closed, and so the Cry Wolf gig scheduled for June 15 has been canceled.
Publican Mark East messaged to say:
WE HAVE CLOSED, THE ROW BARGE, GUILDFORD, Chrissie & I have no fight left to continue against HMRC, we have had a great 4+ years & have some great memories & friends, but we have nothing left, there is no more music at the rowbarge, there is no more real ale at the rowbarge, there was some hope, but after a long chat between us, we have called it a day.We wish Mark & Chrissie all the very best for the future in whatever they do, and thanks so much for your hospitality and your support of live music. Another wonderful venue lost!
Please note: The June 8 Cry Wolf gig for The Windsor Castle, Carshalton, is also cancelled.

There are no gigs this weekend, but here's a flashback to 2005.
This song was dropped from the set when Pars' Line 6 blew up and took all its programming with it - take a listen to the exquisite guitar sound on this one. Arguably my favourite on the Cry Wolf roster... Blurry - Puddle of Mudd
Next week sees the wolfpack in Eton, at a new venue - Henry VI. See the gig list for further details!

GIG ALERT: I sincerely regret to announce that the Sunday April 29 gig scheduled for The Six Bells in Brentford is now cancelled! This is not the band's doing - please vent at Fullers if you feel so inclined, as they have, yet again, undermined an enthusiastic pro-music landlord and put someone else in her place...
April 4, 2012
GIG ALERT: Saturday, April 7, 2012, at The Swan in Wheathampstead and Sunday, April 29, 2012 at The Six Bells in Brentford...

GIG UPDATE: Here I Go Again...
The Six Bells in Brentford is back!
However, in a break with tradition, this gig is on a Friday -
Friday, March 30, to be precise. It's £3 to get in on the door, and £2.50 for an advance ticket direct from the venue.
Proceeds go to Help For Heroes.
Will this be the start of a new tradition?? Let's hope so!

What a fabulous night at new venue The General Eliott in Uxbridge!
With Pars still recuperating, Ed Cusick was drafted in at extremely short notice - the Wolfman joining the Wolfpack!
I can only take my hat off to all the boys for pulling this one together so magnificently. It was a night to remember, and for a pubload of people, their first view of Cry Wolf, so a huge thank you to Ed for keeping the legend intact.
February 17, 2012
GIG ALERT: Regretably, tonight's gig at The Three Mariners in Bagshot has been cancelled. Deep apologies from the band.
Pars says: Sorry peoples...hope to be fighting fit again soon. I will make it up to you all!! \\m//
Get better soon, Pars...

|Despite the snow it was a great final gig at The Star in Ewell. A big thank you to everyone who ventured out, despite the snow, and made it such a brilliant night.
We wish gig organiser Steve all the very best in whatever he gets up to next, and thank him and the crew for supporting live music.
Brewery 1 : Music lovers 0 :-(
Cry Wolf's March gigs have been added to the giglist, with two new venues on the roster.
Remember - keep music live!
Love it or lose it...

|GIG ALERT: As Friday night's gig at The Rising Sun in Slough is cancelled, February's gigs start on Saturday night, February 4, at The Star in Ewell, unfortunately for the last time, as per this message from pub gig organiser Steve:
It is with regret the Star Pub will close on the 10th Feb. I would like to thank every one who have supported the Pub, the Great Music and Bands that we have had the pleasure to watch and enjoy over the last year 1 1/2 yrs.
All the Best

|Happy New Year everyone!
New Year's Eve at the Coach & Horses in Hounslow was a fabulous evening, with extra lights, extra backline, lasers, and even snow at midnight!
Unfortunately, due to council fire regulations, the number of tickets which were able to be sold was limited - sincere apologies to all those who were turned away at the door.
December 25, 2011
Happy Christmas everyone... and don't forget, come and rock out 2011 on New Year's Eve at The Coach & Horses in Hounslow - tickets are £5 in advance, and £7 on the door - if there are any left! It will be a night to remember with a laser and sound extravaganza!
And keep on rocking into 2012 - the January 2012 gigs have been added to the website

GIG UPDATE: It was another stonker of a gig at The George in Twickenham, but alas, it will be the last. In what has become a depressingly familiar scenario, the brewery has decreed that the pub must reduce their expenditure on live music. Even the most cursory glance around the pub on Thursday night would have revealed that the takings over the bar would have more than offset the investment. Gutted, and apologies to everyone who made it yet another great night!
July 19, 2011
GIG UPDATE: Come celebrate the demise of The Cardinal Wolsey in East Molesey with us - Cry Wolf will be performing at the last gig there ever, on Friday, July 29th. We can't let this one go without a bang! Start time will be around 10pm.
July 18, 2011
GIG UPDATE: And here's yet more bad news, this time, from Ye Olde Swan, Burnham:
"As of 1st July 2011, Gary the current landlord is leaving.
The future of the pub is uncertain so any bands currently booked should consider their gigs cancelled unless they can confirm them if/when there is new management."
July 15, 2011
GIG UPDATE: Disappointing news from The Cardinal Wolsey, East Molesey:
"An update from us - sadly, we'll be leaving the Cardinal Wolsey at the end of July. The pub is going to be refurbished and its unlikely that they will continue with the music side of things. A huge thank you to everyone who's attended and supported the pub over the last year :)"
June 27, 2011
August dates have been added to the Cry Wolf gig list.

June 6, 2011
July dates have been added to the Cry Wolf gig list.
June 4, 2011
GIG UPDATE: News of the demise of The Coach & Horses in Hounslow was greatly exaggerated - it's open and ready to rock TONIGHT with Cry Wolf.
On the other hand, rumours of the cessation of The Six Bells in Brentford as a music venue are true! Unbelieveable. At least we rocked out in style last Sunday, not realising it was the last gig ever.
Sunday, May 29, 2011
The last ever gig at The Six Bells, Brentford... little did we know it.
May 24, 2011
GIG UPDATE: Two new venues for June, The North Star in Staines, and The George in Twickenham.
Rock returns to Twickers at long last?
See the gig list for more details.
And on the negative side, we've lost the marvelous Coach & Horses in Hounslow.

Cry Wolf play Kink Rock Bar in St. Albans
|Setting up...||Show time!|
April 13, 2011

Cry Wolf will be on stage from 10pm, followed by "a DJ playing guitar based sounds, Rock/Punk/Ska/", open until 4am. More details on the gig page, and on Facebook.|

January 17, 2011
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated out to the end of March 2011.
GIG UPDATE: I never thought I'd be saying it, but... The Rising Sun is back! The boys are back there on Friday, January 28th - let's bring rock back to to Slough!
Unfortunately, I'll never be able to say that about the Red Lion in Twickenham... a certain large supermarket has taken away one of our best loved venues forever, and no amount of profanity uttered in passing will bring her back.
This week the band are playing a private do, but next week it's back to the old good days, with three gigs right across the weekend! Check the giglist for details.
January 1, 2011
Happy New Year!
Wishing everyone all the very best for 2011, and remember, keep rocking, and keep music live!
New Year's Eve at O'Neills, Sutton... note Gary's festive flashing guitar strap... a great evening, and four encores!
December 25, 2010
Happy Christmas everyone!
Don't forget, the next Cry Wolf gig is New Year's Eve, at O'Neills in Sutton. Rock on 2011!
December 5, 2010
SPOILER ALERT: There are new songs and some old favourites back in the set ready for next Saturday at The Windsor Castle in Carshalton. Be there!
Last night at The Camphill Club in West Byfleet the punters were shouting and screaming for more, while one declared, "That was the best Cry Wolf gig I've ever seen!" A huge thank you to Gary Davis for so brilliantly stepping into the breach.
"...introducing Gary Davis on guitar!"
November 28, 2010
GIG UPDATE: IMPORTANT NEWS! Cry Wolf are playing O'Neills in Sutton on New Years' Eve!

November 1, 2010
It was a Happy Halloween at The Six Bells in Brentford last night, though it was not without it's drama!
Well-known to all as the long-standing publican behind the bar at this very establishment, and regular and enthusiastic gig-goer since her well-deserved retirement, our dear friend Joyce was suddenly taken ill during the gig. As the show must go on, the band played on, but there were flashing blue lights outside as first a pair of paramedics, and then an ambulance arrived to spirit Joyce away for intensive testing. I'm happy to report though that our tough heroine insisted on walking out of the pub on her own two feet to her emergency transportation, and there was further good news today.
Stephen Strongitharm has relayed that: "Mel has spoken to Joyce this morning, she was in the Hospital till 3am had ECG and Blood tests, feeling better this morning, and going to the Doctors on Tuesday............"
Get better soon Joyce, we want you back!
An update from Stephen: Nov 4: "Spoke to Joyce last night, feeling better, went to Doctors but still awaiting results back from Hospital !"
October 22, 2010
An excellent evening, with the rockers of Hemel Hempstead out in force at The Beehive on Allandale. We had the debut of the latest bit of kit, mike-stand mounted monitors for Tom and Gary, which join the new PA to aid the boys in delivering the best sound possible - which was admittedly a bit of a challenge last night when working with a bare concrete floor awaiting the installation of new carpet!
Even the SatNav was a bit intimidated when we passed through "The Magic Roundabout" in Hemel Hempstead on the way there - I have subsequently discovered that it's listed at number 9 on Britain's 10 Scariest Road Junctions! All in a night's work for the Wolf Pack.
October 19, 2010
GIG UPDATE: After a two week hiatus, Cry Wolf are back this weekend, firstly at new venue The Beehive in Hemel Hempstead on Friday night, and then on Saturday at The Admiral Nelson in Whitton.
And there's a new venue for Friday, November 19 - Farnham Royal Cricket Club. Guests are welcome, entry is free. See the gig list for more details.
October 2, 2010
|Cry Wolf returned to The Wellington in New Malden after many years' absence, and rarely has the phrase "giving it some welly" been more apt! Despite the heavy and persistant rain, an appreciative crowd were on hand to join the band in celebrating their return to this historic venue - not only was it formerly a regular gig in their early days, this one also has the distinction of being the first ever gig where Pars played with the band.
We were treated to a rousing performance, including the long unplayed Dead Or Alive, aided in no small part by the crystal clear clarity of the new PA.
Alan the publican assures us there will be many more gigs here, so keep your eyes peeled on the gig list.
Let's keep music live!
Been a long time... Cry Wolf rock The Wellington, New Malden
September 2, 2010
GIG UPDATE: Tomorrow night's listed gig at Staines Riverside Club is cancelled.
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated with October dates.
August 18, 2010
No, it seems we were well and truly misled about The Twickenham Tup. On Sunday was the last jam ever, and now we hear it's going to be renamed The Royal Oak and turned into a gastropub. The Mulberry has also closed, subject to a refit as a bar and grill. No more music in Twickenham. Sigh.
August 3, 2010
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated with August/September dates.
July 28, 2010
Is there a more disheartening sight than our beloved old venue, formerly The Red Lion, in Twickenham, now a Tesco Metro? On the plus side, The Twickenham Tup is at long last being closed for refurbishment which will include soundproofing... and it will reopen as The Red Lion. Can't wait!
July 18, 2010
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated with July/August dates.
Please note the new gig at The Coach & Horses, Hounslow, on July 30, almost exactly a year after the last one there. Let the venue know how much we love live music - be there!

June 16, 2010
GIG UPDATE: There's a new gig on Friday, June 25: The Niche Bar & Lounge, Staines. £3 from 8pm, £5 from 10pm. The band hits the stage at 10pm, with Pars' side project Metalingus starting from 8.30pm. As well as that entry charge, there's a dress code at this one! From their website: Door Policy : No effort, no entry. Smart trainers only, strictly no sportswear.
The George & Devonshire will not be hosting live bands any more... another one bites the dust, alas.
And still more bad news: The Rising Sun in Slough is to close as of the end of this month.
The Rising Sun, Slough, 2010... the end of an era
June 2, 2010
GIG UPDATE: The George & Devonshire gig in Chiswick has been moved forward to June 4, this Friday night. Come and support Cry Wolf at this new venue! Kicking off around 9.30pm...

GIG UPDATE: I never thought I'd be writing this! Cry Wolf are back at The Six Bells, Brentford, this Sunday, March 28, 9pm start. Spread the word around! THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN!
Not only that, but the long standing tradition has been reinstated - Cry Wolf will be playing The Six Bells on the last Sunday of the month, every month. Be there!

GIG UPDATE: The Twickenham Tup gig booked for February 27th has been cancelled. Though the pub has had its refurbishment plans approved, it's going to take a while for it to happen. The GOOD news is that a new gig has been added to the list for Saturday, March 6 - The Admiral Nelson in Whitton.
January 24, 2010
GIG UPDATE: Cue Whitesnake, Here I Go Again: I've had word that The Twickenham Tup has cancelled all full bands due to noise problems until they get their sound-proofing sorted out. So that means no gig next Friday night after all. Sorry folks. :-(
January 16, 2010
GIG UPDATE: Though we can't celebrate having The Cardinal Wolsey being back on the gigging circuit just yet, Cry Wolf are playing a one-off show in memory of Brian Searle, the cheery fellow who used to stand at the door and relieve willing punters of their door fee to gain entry to this once heavingly popular venue. His favourite band playing at his favourite venue... let's make it a suitably rocking farewell for Brian. RIP. Friday, January 22, 9.30pm start. Be there!

GIG UPDATE: It's officially the end of an era. Though it has closed (and reopened) numerous times in the last few years, this time it's final. The last gigs EVER at The Red Lion in Twickenham are this weekend. The good news is they tell us that all booked gigs will be honoured and are moving lock, stock and barrel a few blocks down the road to The Twickenham Tup, so Cry Wolf will be there on January 29th.
Very sad news, I have lots of great memories of gigs there. And Cry Wolf go back a long way as well: Memories of the Red Lion.

GIG UPDATE: It's the end of an era - the final gig at The Six Bells in Brentford is tonight. It's been an institution in the Cry Wolf gig roster for many years... and was the first venue at which I ever saw them play, back in 2003. The good news is, the boys are moving less than a mile down the road for their regular gig on the final Sunday of the month - to the Coach & Horses in Isleworth.

GIG UPDATE: There have been so many changes recently I can only recommend checking out the gig list for details. Frequently. Even on the actual day of the gig! It doesn't hurt to check with the venue if you're not sure.

Happy Birthday, Pars Evenros!
It was a fun gig at The Grand Junction in Southall, with Pars and Rob, Mercenary Rock Gods, though Pars' heavy-handedness in breaking strings on both his guitars meant he had to borrow a Telecaster to finish off Highway Star! Imagine that, Pars using an "uncool" guitar... sorry everyone, I forgot my camera!
March 1, 2008
The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated.
I've changed the link to the map for each venue - it now includes an option to plot a route to the venue. Enjoy!
January 11, 2008
Fantastic to have Eddie Golga and Alan Jones along to tonight's Cry Wolf gig. It was a great night, and lovely to catch up with Alan again before he heads back off to Australia.

August 5, 2007
The band are taking a week off for some well-deserved holidays. In the meantime, here are some pics from the gig last night, Ted's party, a private do which capitalised on the warm weather we've been basking in this weekend. With David having already headed off on his break, it was up to versatile dep Budgie to man the drum stool. It was a fun trip there and back as well - thanks to all concerned!

I haven't done a photo page for a while, so here's one from last night, at The Red Lion in Twickenham, and my first for Cry Wolf since the refurbishment. Mind you, I've been down here at least once a week for every week I've been here this year. Check out the jam on Sunday afternoons from 4.30pm, if you get the chance!
And I've finally had time to put together a page from my December / January trip. I didn't always get a lot of photos, for one reason or another, so I've put together the first three gigs on the one page: December 2006.
March 16, 2007
All gigs at The Waggon & Horses at Kew Bridge have been cancelled from the end of March onwards. Some additional gigs have been added to the Cry Wolf gig list for The Red Lion in Twickenham and The Prince Regent in Sutton.

Please note that the November 8 gig at The Vault has been cancelled. I received this message from phil@livebandphotos - "Just heard from the locals that The Vault Waltham Cross has closed down. I haven't managed to confirm yet so suggest you check your gigs are still on before travelling."
Sounds like it's pretty definite now...

Cry Wolf would like to sincerely apologise for not being able to play at The Marne Inn as scheduled last Friday night.
Pars said, "There was chaos on the M25 during rush hour that Friday and it was going to take 3 hours to get to the gig. I spoke with the pub and told them we could not start until after 10:00. We all thought it was best that we cancel. I regret the short notice."

January 29, 2006
Design revisions occurring… in particular, I'm working on the gig photo pages, as they were often created in a hurry on the morning after the gig! Most changes are slight, but there are a few new pictures on photo pages from last year.
November 27, 2005
I've done the gig page for the last gig of my August/September trip, at where else but The Six Bells, Brentford! I had a bit of fun with this one... you'll see.
November 4, 2005
How's this for a contrast? Over here (Australia) there is a local council trying to force the pubs in the area to close early... currently closing time is 5.30am, but they are trying to impose a 2.30am closing time. The pubs are ignoring it! When I was in the UK there was much uproar about so-called "24-hour licencing" though, in most cases, pubs like The Six Bells were only applying for a modest one hour extension to their current opening hours!
September 6, 2005
A phone call from Gary, with still MORE changes to the Cry Wolf gig list, including the cancelation of both Chertsey gigs. We see a return to a few venues which haven't been played for a while, including The Goldsworth Arms in Woking, plus The Red Cow in West Drayton (formerly known as Jack Beard's). It's a busy couple of months. In fact, if it hadn't been for the cancelation of those 5 gigs, September would have been the busiest month Cry Wolf has played for years.
June 11, 2005
A quickie gig report from The Rising Sun, Slough, a big thank you to Eddie Golga: "We had a great night on Saturday at Slough, it was good to see the guys again. The sound was probably the best I've heard!"

Bleak news... about The Bleak House
The Bleak House, in Woking, Surrey, has apparently changed hands, and seen its last gig, played by none other than Cry Wolf, who had originally been scheduled to play there in mid-October. The gig was brought forward so that the band could see the venue out in appropriate style.
Only back in July, The Bleak House had hosted an all-weekend music festival and barbeque, and was a popular venue, always packed with patrons. It will be sadly missed - one less venue to go and see our favourite bands!
Read Steve Murphy's gig review of that last ever gig.

A venue change from The New Moon, Hanworth, to The Marne Inn, Bishop's Stortford, on Saturday, August 14, with substitute drummer Smash. Phil commented, "Thanks for another excellent night. Hopefully The Marne will book you again."

A photo from my final Cry Wolf gig, at Hurtwood Polo Club, Ewhurst. It was a great gig to finish up on, including a scenic drive through the Surrey downs to get there, and it was awfully tough saying goodbye. A big thank you to everyone, I had an absolutely marvelous time, and caught every single gig! I'll definitely be back next year - I had far too much fun!!
March 26 - April 30, 2004
I've made it - I'm on my way back to the UK... click here for my second trip diary. Since, on my last trip, I only really got photos from my final gig, this time I went both prepared and determined to make up for lost time, not to mention create a lasting momento of the trip.
|Hey Mum, can I bring them home with me??!||Cry Wolf were scheduled to play a massive 15 gigs during the time I was there, and I caught them all, both in person and on film.|
