Is there a more disheartening sight than our beloved old venue, formerly The Red Lion, in Twickenham, now a Tesco Metro? On the plus side, The Twickenham Tup is at long last being closed for refurbishment which will include soundproofing... and it will reopen as The Red Lion. Can't wait!

The Cry Wolf gig list has been updated with July/August dates.
Please note the new gig at The Coach & Horses, Hounslow, on July 30, almost exactly a year after the last one there. Let them know how much we love live music - be there!

GIG UPDATE:   There's a new gig on Friday, June 25: The Niche Bar & Lounge, Staines. £3 from 8pm, £5 from 10pm. The band hits the stage at 10pm, with Pars' side project Metalingus from 8.30pm. As well as that entry charge, there's a dress code at this one! From their website: Door Policy : No effort, no entry. Smart trainers only, strictly no sportswear. Check it out for yourself.

The George & Devonshire will not be hosting live bands any more... another one bites the dust, alas.

And still more bad news: The Rising Sun in Slough is to close as of the end of this month.

GIG UPDATE:  The Twickenham Tup gig booked for February 27th has been cancelled. Though the pub has had its refurbishment plans approved, it's going to take a while for it to happen. The GOOD news is that a new gig has been added to the list for Saturday, March 6 - The Admiral Nelson in Whitton.

GIG UPDATE:  Cue Whitesnake, Here I Go Again: I've had word that The Twickenham Tup has cancelled all full bands due to noise problems until they get their sound-proofing sorted out. So that means no gig next Friday night. Sorry folks. :-(

GIG UPDATE:  Though we can't celebrate having The Cardinal Wolsey being back on the gigging circuit just yet, Cry Wolf are playing a one-off show in memory of Brian Searle, the cheery fellow who used to stand at the door and relieve willing punters of their door fee to gain entry to this once heavingly popular venue. His favourite band playing at his favourite venue... let's make it a suitably rocking farewell for Brian. RIP. Friday, January 22, 9.30pm start. Be there!

GIG UPDATE:  It's officially the end of an era. Though it has closed (and reopened) numerous times in the last few years, this time it's final. The last gigs EVER at The Red Lion in Twickenham are this weekend. The good news is they tell us that all booked gigs will be honoured and are moving lock, stock and barrel a few blocks down the road to The Twickenham Tup, so Cry Wolf will be there on January 29th.

Very sad news, I have lots of great memories of gigs there. And Cry Wolf go back a long way as well: 1999, 2005, 2007.

Happy birthday, Alan Jones!
